Barrowtown Pump Station - Floodwall
Purpose
The existing Barrowtown Pump Station protects the Sumas Prairie from flooding. Due to climate change and the flood levels from the 2020 atmospheric river, the Pump Station was in danger of being flooded. To protect the Pump Station from future potential flooding a new concrete wall was built against the Pump Station on the Sumas Prairie side.
Components
Heavily reinforced cast in place concrete wall connected to the existing Pump Station exterior wall.
