Mt. Lehman Cemetery Improvement
Purpose
The Mt. Lehman Cemetery was originally established in the 1880’s and is Abbotsford’s smallest civic cemetery. It has a personal and intimate setting, but its landscape, furnishings and drainage needed refreshment. Reconstructing the fence lines, access and parking on the site gave the opportunity to substantially increase the number of burial plots.
Components
New property fences were constructed with concrete, granite and rough-cut cedar. A rain garden was installed, complete with a concrete bridge, which collects much of the site’s surface drainage. A new Columbarium was installed with the opportunity to install two more on completed footings.
